Chewing on the Cross

I wear a rosary around my wrist. It was given to me by a woman named Raven.  She is an incredibly talented singer and a most generous person.  She  has also experienced homelessness and struggled with mental illness.  I have known her for years.  Her gift to me is one of my favorite things.  It reminds me that in the center of our faith is a victim of the powers.  And also the one with the power to overcome hate, fear, greed, and death with the power of love.

From Ferguson: What I Heard

Mercy Junction founder/evangelist, the Rev. Brian Merritt, arrived in Ferguson, Mo., on Aug. 21, at the height of protesters being met with a violent police response following the police shooting death of unarmed teenager Michael Brown. This was Brian’s third update after arriving.

PPF Announces Seven Peace Communities

As the PPF works to strengthen our witness to Jesus Christ in the PC(USA), we begin a new and exciting partnership with seven intentional peace communities. Because there are many ways across the church to live in Christian community outside of traditional congregational life, we desire to connect with and support intentional peace communities involved in inspiring peace work across the country.

Announcement of our Peace Communities Partnership

The Presbyterian Peace Fellowship (PPF) has always taken seriously its call from God to be movers and shakers within the PC(USA) and beyond, encouraging one another to participate in God’s nonviolent work of love, peace, and justice in the world. In efforts to continue following this call and respond to the changing ways of the Church, the PPF is happy to announce our new Peace Communities Partnership initiative.
