Delegation to Colombia - Jan 2009
January 20-29, 2009

Join us to see where God is at work
The Presbyterian Peace Fellowship and Holmes Presbyterian Camp are sponsoring a delegation to respond to the call of the Presbyterian Churches of Colombia. "Practicing Resurrection: Standing with Christians in a troubled land." Join us January 20-29, 2009
We will:
-
Discuss with Presbyterian leadership the church’s response
to displaced communities and violence. - Visit projects of individual churches in threatened communities.
-
Visit displaced farmers in the remote mountain farm where
they are creating a new community. - Joyfully worship with Colombian brothers and sisters
-
Talk with human rights workers who are documenting
abuses. - Explore the Universidad Reformada.
-
Enjoy the rich culture and beautiful landscape
of Colombia. -
Learn about U.S. sponsored Plan Colombia and its effects
on people, land and the war.
Each of our delegations provides a ministry of presence that helps to protect our sister churches in Colombia. Upon returning to the United States, we can bear witness to what we have seen and be advocates for change. Here is an opportunity to follow Jesus’ call to “step out of the boat” (Matt 14:22-33).
