Letter to Congress: No Colombia FTA
The Obama Administration has announced that it wants to push the U.S.-Colombia Free Trade Agreement (FTA) through Congress before August.
Human rights, labor, environmental, and faith-based organizations and activists around the country are stepping up their efforts to stop this trade agreement. Today, over 400 groups in the U.S. and Colombia—including the PC(USA) and the PPF—sent a letter opposing the FTA to congress. But we need your help in getting the word out.
In this letter, we make the case that U.S.-Colombia FTA should not be passed because there are not sufficient guarantees to protect labor rights, human rights, vulnerable populations, and the environment.
