Colombia Accompaniment Training

This event is for those discerning whether to serve as nonviolent accompaniers through the Colombia Accompaniment Program. As a group, living and eating and praying together “on retreat” at the Allison House just off the main Stony Point campus, we carry out an intensive study of human-displacement by violence in Colombia, and of links to US foreign policy.

Action Alert: Denounce Murder in El Tamarindo, Colombia

Late last week we received an urgent communication from the Rev. Jairo Barriga of the Presbytery of the North Coast in Colombia concerning the murder on April 12, 2013, of a young man, Narciso Enrique Teherán Mejia. His murder followed a series of death threats and paramilitary operations in an area called El Tamarindo in the municipality of Galapa, near the city of Barranquilla. Please read the background, and then take the action described below.

Presbyterian Peace Fellowship Supports Jewish Ship to Gaza

Unarmed European Jews to Carry Humanitarian Aid through Gaza Blockade

Minneapolis, MN – The Presbyterian Peace Fellowship announces a new nonviolent initiative, joining with European Jewish groups to send a boatload of humanitarian supplies to Gaza. The Peace Fellowship has raised $10,000 from its members to lend solidarity to the three groups organizing the unarmed civilian action: European Jews for a Just Peace in the Middle East, Jewish Voice for a Just Peace in the Middle East (both in Germany) and Jews for Justice for the Palestinians (UK).

Consultation and Encounter: the Presbyterians of Iraq, Syria and Lebanon

You are invited to travel on a mission trip to Lebanon and Syria this fall to meet fellow-Presbyterians from Iraq, Syria and Lebanon. This venture is organized through the Iraq Partnership Network and the Syria-Lebanon Network of the PC(USA) and is sponsored and facilitated by The Outreach Foundation. The church governing bodies in the region, namely the Assembly of Presbyterian Churches in Iraq and the National Evangelical Synod of Syria and Lebanon have worked closely with the networks to finalize and bless these plans.
