Stated Clerk Urges President Obama to Stand for Human Rights in Colombia

It is with great regret and disappointment that this past weekend (as expected) at the Summit of the Americas, Presidents Obama and Santos certified that all conditions had been met and that the Colombia Free Trade Agreement (CFTA) will go into full effect on May 15, 2012. Rev. Gradye Parsons, Stated Clerk of the PC(USA) issued this statement to President Obama about the Summit of the Americas and to reiterate what our denomination’s call for foreign policies as they relate to Colombia are. We give thanks for Gradye’s leadership and support in this time.
