Take Action: Urge Congress to Continue U.S. Support for the UN

The General Conference of U.N. Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) voted on October 31 to admit Palestine as a full member.

In response, the State Department has announced the cut of U.S. contributions to UNESCO based on laws—passed in the 1990s—prohibiting funding of UN agencies that grant membership to entities that don't have full statehood.

Freedom Flotilla II—Stay Human is gathering in the Mediterranean for the next attempt to break the blockade on Gaza—a nonviolent direct action. The American ship, The Audacity of Hope, has 50 American citizens as passengers, carrying only letters to the people of Gaza. The US government has been less than supportive of this activity and letters have been circulating to be signed by those supporting the flotilla.
