PPF Activist Council Meeting

September 26-28, 2019

You are invited to the Fall Activist Council gathering!

Whether you’ve been a part of PPF for a long time or are just curious to learn more, you are welcome here. We will gather to worship, practice community, and plan together for the action we’ll take for gun violence prevention, accompaniment of border and Colombian communities, Palestine solidarity, creation justice, and more! We’ll also plan together for General Assembly 2020.

Registration closes September 9, 2019. Register here!

Update: We’re thrilled that Matt Black will be leading music at this Activist Council gathering! Matt has been a part of the PPF family for many years, serving on staff and as a volunteer. Most recently, he wrote the “theme song” for the PCUSA Walk for a Fossil Free World led by PPF and Fossil Free PCUSA last summer. If you know don’t know Matt and his music, you’re in for a treat! If you do know Matt and his music, you know you don’t want to miss this gathering!

There are 2 large rooms of 20 bunk beds that are typically divided into a men’s room and a women’s room. We realize that gender is more complicated than this. There is a space in the registration form for you to indicate which room you prefer to be in, and if you have questions, suggestions, advice about this or anything else please reach out to us.
  • Make your own arrangements – We have a block of hotel rooms at the Holiday Inn Express in Townson (currently Towson Place Hotel and Suites). The hotel address is 1100 Cromwell Bridge Rd Towson, MD 21286, about a 15 minute drive from The Center (we will arrange for transportation for folks staying at the hotel to and from the Center). The rate is $99 per night plus tax. You must book the room before August 29th to receive this rate. To book a room with our rate online click here or call 410-823-4410 and mention you are in the Presbyterian Peace Fellowship block. If you are interested in rooming with someone, please let us know and we will try our best to connect you with someone else looking for a roommate.
  • Transportation to The Center: The Center is reachable by public transportation from BWI (Baltimore-Washington International Airport/Train Station). You can take the BWI Light Rail (Outbound) to either the Cultural Center or Centre St stop. From there, the Center is just a few blocks walking distance. You can find more information about the Light Rail schedule and stops here. You can also take a Lyft for approximately $35 or a Super Shuttle for approximately $25.

Expense Assistance: We have tried to keep costs low so that this event is as economically accessible to as many people as possible, and we do have some funding available for those who need assistance with travel and/or the costs of the event itself. To indicate your need for expense assistance, please fill out this form and someone will be in touch with you by August 1.
