Time to celebrate! The Presbyterian Peace Fellowship Barstow-Driver annual award event will be held virtually on September 1, 2021 at 8:00pm Eastern/5:00pm Pacific.

The award for “excellence in nonviolent direct action in retirement” honors two dedicated peacemaking activists, Doug and Cheryl Hunt, members of First Presbyterian Church in Stockton, CA. They are retired teachers who have been working as accompaniment volunteers, advocates for gun violence prevention and going fossil free, and building relationships promoting God’s Kingdom of love, peace and justice for decades.

We hope you will join us on September 1 to lift up Doug and Cheryl in gratitude and to be galvanized to share in this work. Our event’s keynote speaker will be Kathryn Fleischer, Executive Director of Not My Generation, a young adult organization for gun violence prevention.

The Barstow Driver award also functions as an important fundraiser for the Presbyterian Peace Fellowship which will be sharing event proceeds with Not My Generation. Even if you can’t attend, you can give in honor of our award recipients below.
