Videos Highlight Palestine Solidarity Overtures to General Assembly

Deep gratitude to the Palestine Justice Network for its advocacy in support of two critical Palestine solidarity overtures coming before the upcoming General Assembly, and for producing two must-watch videos that help ground this work in lived experience, moral clarity, and international law.

In Why Support the PC(USA) Genocide Overture, Ruling Elder Noushin Framke speaks with urgency and conviction, weaving together personal experience and legal analysis to illuminate the overture On Recognizing that Israel Has Violated the International Law Prohibiting Genocide. The video makes a compelling case for the church to name the reality of genocide and to act with integrity in the face of overwhelming evidence.

The second overture, Peace and Justice through Just and Peaceful Means: Overture on Embargoing Israel, is explored in Why Support the PC(USA) Overture to Embargo Israel. Drawing on more than two decades of experience with Palestine and his research on the successful sanctions campaign against apartheid South Africa, Dr. Bob Ross underscores why economic pressure is a necessary, nonviolent tool for ending oppression and advancing justice.

Together, these overtures challenge the church not only to speak the truth, but to take meaningful action in solidarity with the Palestinian people. Check them out!
